Story: this is prequel to all other Star Trek series. This series has started in late 2001 and still new episodes are being aired!! This TV show tells a story about crew of (mainly) humans equipped with a starship faster than light, who EXPLORE the universe. Among the crew there are also some aliens.

One of crucial elements of the story is "temporal cold war", where somebody from future is improving genetically, by means of future GENETIC ENGINEERING technologies the alien race of Suliban, in return getting help from Suliban to perform certain military and terrorist actions. Here is picture of the man from future (to the left) and one Suliban man who is at this moment undergoing genetic treatment related to enhanced vision:

Thanks to this transfer of technology the Suliban race is enhancing themselves with many new abilities and thus developing themselves faster as it would normally happen during evolution.

What is even more interesting captain of the starship Enterprise (to the right on the picture below) meets somebody who is kind of "temporal police" (to the left on picture below) from about year 3000 (900 years in future from 22 century), who shows him portable temporal observatory:

... and then the captain asks the time traveler: "are you human", and he answers, despite his purely human appearance: "more or less" ... what indicates that time traveler is also using genetic engineering. After this time traveler confirms that he is from planet earth thus "more or less" can mean only genetic engineering.

About title: Enterprise is a name of the starship.

Comment: at last GENETIC ENGINEERING is recognized as the unavoidable future: for better or worse. In previous star trek series genetic engineering was not playing key role - Dr. Bashir on Deep Space 9 was genetically enhanced but it was one time thing: genetic engineering was not occurring there all the time. Here, in the newest Star Trek series: it plays vital role in the plot!
