Visions depicted in science-fiction (S-F) movies and TV shows are sometimes an inspiration for scientists and researchers. Also for children and young people, who consider selecting specific career path they constitute important material: dreams, which may come truth. Telling about genetic engineering and forgetting about popular culture products, like movies and TV shows would mean disregarding important part of our, human, contemporary culture. Therefore we present here science-fiction films, which cover subject of genetic engineering.

S-F movies related to genetic engineering:

• NEW!!! Teminator 3 (latest generation of terminators - the TX - features now DNA scanning ability and a built-in DNA database!)
• Star Wars, Episode 2, Attack of the Clones (army of clones is being done out of 1 person, those clones are genetically engineered [altered] to be more obedient)

• Enterprise (newest Star Trek TV series; as a side effect of "temporal cold war" certain race undergoes GENETIC ENGINEERING to enhance their abilities; genetic engineering plays important role in the plot)
• Dark Angel (world, where people created by use of genetic engineering are reality)
• The X Files (aliens applying genetic engineering on humans)

S-F movies related to genetic engineering (available on DVD and Video):

• Blade II (vampires use genetic engineering to rid of their weaknesses like garlic, silver and susceptibility to daylight)
• GATTACA (genetic engineering of humans on mass scale, new improved human species)
• The 6th Day (human cloning)
• X-Men (mutants with superpowers)

Important S-F movies and TV shows, which neglect subject of genetic engineering (therefore not described here further):

• Matrix (is Neo a genetically altered human?; anyway: the best S-F movie of all times) 
• Babylon 5 (are Vorlons too stupid to master genetic engineering? no, simply the creator of Babylon 5 and it other related series - Mr. Straczynski - is too narrow-minded to capture importance of this technology)
